What is “Concrete Coring”? Often referred to as core drilling, concrete coring utilizes a water cooled diamond cutting drill bit to cut a round hole in concrete. The process is relatively low-noise and dust free. Holes can also be drilled vertically or horizontally from 1” – 12” in diameter and at any angle. A concrete drilling rig is comprised of a water cooled diamond cutting bit, electric motor, stand, vacuum and water tank. In most case the rig is attached to the floor or surface using an anchor, bolt, or vacuum seal in order to stabilize it. As the rig drills the cutter is cooled by water in order to reduce friction. The cutting process is completed by the removal of the lug.​
